General
ANSYS is an industry-leading FEM-based software tool developed by ANSYS
Inc. for performing engineering simulations in a wide range of
application areas. Pre-processing, solving and post processing can be done
within a single integrated environment. Simulation capabilities include
solid, shell and beam models, linear and nonlinear structural analysis,
heat conduction, electromagnetism, acoustics, and different types of
coupled analysis.
Benefits
ANSYS provides solutions for engineering simulations which allow us to
predict how alternative product designs will behave in manufacturing and
real-world environments. The ANSYS product family contains an
industry-leading, comprehensive set of tools for all steps in the design
process, including geometry import, different algorithms for meshing,
and several different solvers. All ANSYS products come with ANSYS
Workbench platform which has a state-of-the-art, easy-to-use interface
and bidirectional associatively with major CAD systems. It features
automatic contact detection and robust meshing of complex parts and
large assemblies. It allows the direct import of CAD models and makes
simulation an integrated part of product development.
- increase
performance or life time
- increase quality
- predict total
lifetime and service periods
- decrease
manufacturing costs
- optimize material

- understand
failure mechanisms
- decrease the
total number of physical prototypes
Depending on the simulation needs, the user can choose between a number
of different levels of analysis functionality. The top-of-the-line
product ANSYS Multiphysics contains the full range of simulation
features. Other products, like ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Structural are
subsets of ANSYS Multiphysics.
