Fundamentally, the Moldflow data ensure that the structural analysis model has material properties that would exist in the part as a result of the injection molding process. “We developed the ANSYS interface in direct response to numerous customer requests,” stated Ken Welch, executive vice president and general manager, Moldflow Design Analysis Solutions business unit. “The use of plastics in high performance applications is increasing, and material properties -- particularly for fiber-filled materials -- are heavily influenced by the molding process and may vary throughout the molded part.” http://www.moldflow.com/stp/english/newsroom/PR.asp?ID=352 *Mathsoft and ANSYS Announce an Integrated Solution for Engineering Simulations The integration will closely marry Mathsoft's engineering calculation and documentation capabilities with ANSYS' simulation capabilities. Mathsoft's flagship engineering calculation software, Mathcad®, will launch from within the next version of ANSYS Workbench™. The Workbench-Mathcad integration, available this summer, will for the first time let users automatically import Workbench data into Mathcad to drive and document engineering calculations. This integration will open up a myriad of new possibilities for streamlined calculation and simulation. The integrated software products will act as a single calculation and simulation solution, reducing copying, pasting, transcription and inconsistent unit errors. For example, engineers designing an automobile airbag system will be able to automatically import ANSYS-generated analysis data into Mathcad to calculate maximum inflation pressures. http://www.mathsoft.com/news/pressreleases/article/0,,2523,00.html ==================================================================== CLASS3 ERROR REPORTS AND QA NOTICES 2005-05: PCG, MSAVE, SOLID95, SOLID186 WB2005-04: CYLINDRICAL COORDINATE SYSTEM, SURFACE FORCE, SEQUENCE ANALYSIS WB=Workbench DX=DesignXplorer EM=Emax QA=Quality Assurance The error reports and the QA notes are available at the Customer Area at http://www.ansys.com/ This is a password protected area; please contact your ANSYS Reseller. ==================================================================== UPCOMING TRAINING COURSES V:9-10 May + 30-31 May Stress Analysis with DesignSpace V:24-26 May + 9-10 Jun Introduction to ANSYS V:1-2 Jun Dynamics V:1-3 Jun Multiphysics simulations for MEMS V:13-14 Jun Advanced CFD V:15-17 Jun ANSYS Workbench-Simulation introduction V:17 Jun ANSYS Workbench-Simulation Structural Nonlinearities Location: V=Västerås, M=Malmö, E=Espoo See http://www.medeso.se/training/ansys.html for the complete training schedule. ==================================================================== UPCOMING EVENTS *Meet Medeso at SolidWorks World 17-18 May, Västerås Medeso will present ANSYS for SolidWorks at the SolidWorks World. For instance, to create a plot of unaveraged stresses in Workbench, do the following: 1) Set up a stress analysis model in Workbench as usual. 2) Under Environment, do Insert > Environment Item > Commands In the Commands object, type OUTRES,ALL,ALL 3) Under Solution, do Insert > Environment Item > Commands Copy the following text and paste into the Commands object: ! Change background colour to white (reverse video) /rgb,index,100,100,100, 0 /rgb,index, 80, 80, 80,13 /rgb,index, 60, 60, 60,14 /rgb,index, 0, 0, 0,15 /gfile,500 ! Set image size /graphics, power ! Switch on power graphics to display element shapes /show,png ! Change graphics mode to png ! Set deformation scale to Input Argument ARG1 under Details /dscale, 1, ARG1 /view,1, 1,1,1 ! Define isometric view plesol, s,eqv ! Plot von Mises unaveraged (element) stress /view,1, 0.0,0.0,1.0 ! Change view to z-direction plesol, s,eqv ! Plot von Mises unaveraged (element) stress ! Return to standard graphics to avoid error messages /graphics,full /show 4) Mark the Commands object under Solution, and click Solve. Two ANSYS Classic plots of unaveraged stress results appear in the model tree. These plots can be saved or copied by right-clicking on them. ==================================================================== MEDESO Group Medeso AB has been marketing and selling leading software for mechanical analysis since 1987 and has been a full line ANSYS reseller since early 1998. We work with stress analysis, mainly the Finite Element Method (FEM), motion analysis, computational fluid dynamics and different types of piping and pressure vessel analysis. A few years ago we expanded our field of competence to low and high frequency electromagnetics. Medeso Oy was started 2001 to strengthen Medeso's local presence and is led by our office manager Pekka Mölkänen. Medeso AB recently set up an office in Sandvika, Norway to serve our Norwegian and Danish customers.
