Product
documentation at the customer portal At the ANSYS
customer portal, there are documents about various ANSYS products
that serve as complements to the manual. There are guides on such
topics as contact technology, coupled simulations, getting started
with Workbench, CFX Pre, Solver and Post, etc.
You access these guides by logging on to the customer portal and
choosing "Product Documentation" from the left menu bar.
Using FE Modeler for
checking element quality
The
FE Modeler module, which does not require any extra license or
installation, can be used to check the quality of the mesh according
to different criteria such as Jacobian ratio, aspect ratio and
warping factor.
If you have set up the model in Workbench Simulation, you start FE
Modeler by going to the project tab and from the left column of
choices, pick "New FE Model".
If you work in ANSYS Classic, you can create a .cdb file with the
CDWRITE command (use option DB), or from the menu Preprocessor >
Archive Model > Write.
Then start Workbench with an empty project and choose "Link to ANSYS
CDWRITE input" and then choose "New FE Model".
Once inside FE Modeler, right-click in the model tree and choose
"Insert Mesh Metrics". This sets up a branch in the model tree where
you can view elements for different parts and according to different
quality criteria.
Have a great summer!
Best regards
