ANSYS

Introduction to ANSYS CFD

ANSYS CFD is a fluid analysis software tool that combines CAD input, automatic meshing
and a fast solution algorithm. The ANSYS CFD Introductory Course is a three-day course and
consists of lectures and "hands-on" practical examples. Basics of geometry creation, grid generation,
physical model specification, solution, and post-processing are covered. Please note that only
introductory material and related applications will be addressed

Course Topics include:

          Day 1

  • Geometry handling in DesignModeler

  • Geometry creation

  • CAD import/modification

  • Parameterisation

    Day 2

  • Mesh creation and pre-processing

  • Tet/prism mesh creation in ANSYS Meshing Application

  • Selection of physical models in CFX-Pre and Fluent-Pre

  • Introduction to CEL and CCL

    Day 3

  • Solving and post-processing

  • Obtaining properly converged solutions via CFX-SolverManager and Fluent Solver Manager

  • Quantitative and qualitative post-processing of results in CFD-Post and Fluent-Post

  • Introduction to scripting

There will be time during the course to look at individual application or the course can be modified
and tailored towards specific needs/applications if required.
