ANSYS

Structural Nonlinearities with dynamics

This Training Course is recommended for engineers who analyse the dynamic response of structures.

The course will focus on modal, harmonic and transient dynamic analysis including time-stepping, solution controls and nonlinear solution tracking.

Upon completion, analysts should able to:
  • calculate natural frequency and mode shapes of linear elastic structures (modal analyses)
  • analyze the response of structures under the action of time-varying loads (transient analyses, linear and nonlinear effects included)
  • analyze the response of structures with loads varying sinusoid ally (harmonic response analyses)

Prior knowledge

Attendees are expected to have participated in the ANSYS training ANSYS Introduction or have the corresponding level of knowledge.

Course Topics include:

  • Nonlinearities Overview
  • Obtaining the Solution
  • Postprocessing
  • Basic Geometric Nonlinearities
  • Modal Analysis (definition & purpose, terminology & concepts, procedure)
  • Harmonic Analysis
  • Transient Dynamic Analysis
  • Restarting an Analysis
  • Spectrum Analysis
  • Mode Superposition
  • Modal Analysis - Advanced Topics
    • pre stressed modal analysis
    • modal cyclic symmetry
    • large deflection modal analysis
    • Component Mode Synthesis

Each chapter is followed by "hands-on" workshops and exercises.
